Fionn Foley awarded the Best Actor Award at the ISDA's (Irish Student Drama Awards) at The Belfast Opera House
Congratulations to Agency Actor Fionn Foley. Fionn won the Best Actor Award at The ISDA's (Irish Student Drama Awards) which were held in the Belfast Opera House on Saturday, April 12th. Fionn was representing Trinity College Dublin and was awarded the Best Actor Award on foot of his performance in the part of 'Boris' in a new play called "LIFE IN OUR BLOOD". Two young teenagers 'Boris' and 'Tomas' wake up in their basement and begin a day like any other of the past thirteen years, picking fights and discussing their plans for Christmas, which is only seventy three days away. However, today is different; nobody's brought the breakfast and they're getting hungrier and hungrier. As the two brothers' anticipation and festive plans turn to fear and anxiety they are forced to confront their past and face the grim truth about what has brought them down below, where the world was supposed to forget about them.


SPARKS will fly at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for Darren Killeen
SPARKS, the one-man show Darren Killeen performed at the Theatre@36 in Dublin earlier this year, has been selected to run at this years Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The play will run for ten nights throughout the festival. Set in post-boom Ireland, this unique one-man show, which sees Darren perform in no less than 8 different characters, is a journey though a tradesman’s memories of one pivotal day in his life. Influenced by the work of Irvine Welsh, Enda Walsh, Beckett and Flann O’Brien, this entertaining play will resonate with audiences long after they have left the theatre. SPARKS is a Sceal Eile Production and is written by Pat Hynes.

Agency Actor Brian Fortune gives a wonderful performance in the part of 'Larry 'The Mangler Doyle' and stars alongside actors Brian Gleeson (Love/Hate,Standby) and Gemma-Leah Devereux (Stitches, The Tudors).

Actress Ruth Lehane to perform in Fibin Theatre Company's production of TRIGGER MARTIN
At the end of April award winning actress Ruth Lehane('The Lehane Trilogy...a play in six parts'and 'RUTH 66') will start rehearsals with Galway based Fíbín Theatre Company's production of 'TRIGGER MARTIN'. The play tells the story of the infamous Galwegian Richard Martin. Director Veronica Coburn is devising the play. Fíbín Theatre Company produce theatre for young people in the Irish language. The play ran to packed houses at Blue Raincoat's Sligo HQ The Factory last October and November. The play chronicals the life of Russia's first cosmonaut 'Yuri Gagarin'.

Agency actors George Hanover, Brian Fortune and Paul Kealyn have all been cast in a FilmBase Short called 'LUNCH TIME' which will be filmed by the talented film-makers on FilmBase's Digital Film-making Course in early April. The film itself is a quirky comedy about a conflict between a Beggar and a struggling Chef with some very interesting themes underpinning it all. When a humble Beggar (Brian Fortune) returns to the same restaurant day after day, a frustrated Chef (Paul Kealyn) and his equally frustrated Boss (George Hanover) rise to the challenge of creating the perfect dish. Irene Kelleher plays the lead role in two films that have been selected to be screened at this years Corona Fastnet Short Film Festival which runs from May 21st-25th in Schull, Co. Cork. - 'SONNET NO. 90' and 'THE TROUBLE WITH AOIBHE'.
Irene wrote 'SONNET NO. 90'. It is Directed by Sean Breathnach. The film is a contemporary adaptation of William Shakespeare's Sonnet90 in which Irene plays the lead role of 'Lucy'.
Irene also takes the title role in 'THE TROUBLE WITH AOIBHE' which is Written and Directed by Ross Carey. The film is set in 1987 where a well-meaning young woman finds herself a local outcast, unable to collect for her local church due to her notorious 'holiday to England'.

Gail Fitzpatrick, Frances Healy and Liam Heffron cast in Graham Jones’ 5th Feature Film.
In conjunction with Ali Coffey Casting agency Actors Gail Fitzpatrick, Frances Healy and Liam Heffron have been cast in award winning Director Graham Jones’ 5th feature film. It’s Graham and Ali Coffey Casting’s third collaboration. Filming started earlier this month and will continue into April and May. It is an ensemble piece with more than fifty characters in the movie, and every scene will take place within a different car. In his own true fashion this film will see Graham overcome the limitations of an extremely small budget and will bring his experience to achieve considerable technical panache while giving the actors scope to do what they do best.

Agency Actress George Hanover and Shane Casey cast in 'THE BRIDIE KIRK PROJECT'
Actress George Hanover and Shane Casey have been cast in 'THE BRIDIE KIRK PROJECT', a site specific in Cork City. The play will run from June 21st to 30th inc. Its based on a true story that happened in Cork back in 1939, involving a backstreet abortion, a bookie, a midwife, an abusive father and mother, and a few guards... oh and a murder. The piece will be directed by former Blue Raincoat actress Fiona McGeown.


Agency actors Aidan O'Hare and Shane Casey cast in Irish Film Board Signature Short 'ROCKMOUNT'
ROCKMOUNT will be directed by Dave Tynan and will premiere at this year's Galway Film Fleadh in July and is sure to capture public imagination. ROCKMOUNT is a comedy drama set in Cork in 1982. It follows Roy Keane, then a diminutive eleven year old, as he tries to make the starting eleven of his football team, Rockmount. He's up against it; he's younger and smaller than the other boys but he's not going to let anything get in his way. A boy so serious he seems nearly possessed, he's a figure of fun for the bigger lads on the team. His best friend is his black Labrador and he looks demonic enough that when he stares at a baby in the supermarket, the infant bursts into tears. But this strange boy is going places. Roy resolves to beat the other boys by being fitter, tougher and simply wanting it more than them. It works and in the trial match he dominates the pitch. He makes the team but he's not satisfied. He'll never be satisfied. Aidan has been cast as Roy's 'Football Coach' while Shane has been cast in the role of Roy's father.

The film was shot in Cork city and county including Kinsale, Rochestown and Passage West. The film centres around a single father who decides to break his dying wife's last wish to not box again in order to save his young son from certain death. Gail Fitzpatrick is terrific in the role of 'Mammy'. The film also stars Michael Madsen, Vinnie Jones and Patrick Bergin.

It is the story of Ali and Lisa, two friends from very different backgrounds, who decide that a hedonistic trip to Goa will bring them sunshine and adventure they are looking for. The series, which stars Josh Hartnett and Eva Green, features a roster of classic monsters, including Frankenstein, Dorian Gray and Dracula and weave together the classic origin stories while exploring tones that the country is grappling with. 'Penny Dreadful' hails from three-time Oscar nominee John Logan (Hugo, Skyfall, Gladiator), who wrote the pilot and executive produces alongside Academy Award winner Sam Mendes and Neal Street's Pippa Harris (Revolutionary Road). Amanda Coakley cast as 'Juliet' in Boil in the Bag's 'Romeo and Juliet'
Amanda is currently in Full Time rehearsals for Boil in the Bag's production of 'Romeo and Juliet' in which she has been cast in the role of 'Juliet'. The production is being directed by Eamonn Owens. The 80-minute show will run for a four week block from Monday the 4th to Friday the 28th of March in various venues and schools throughout the Leinster Region.


Ealine Reddy and Laura Kelly cast in IADT's National Film School Graduation Short 'The Raven'
Elaine Reddy and Laura Kelly have been cast in IADT's National Film School graduation short 'The Raven' written and directed by Amy Driver. The film tells the story of how a woman called Charlotte lost her childish innocence through a brutal attack. The story is told in a series of flashbacks. 'The Raven' combines elements of animation with live action giving a sense of childlike imagination to a very dark subject. The film shoots on Tuesday, February 18th in Dublin.

Irene Kelleher performs in 'Desolate Heaven' at Cork's Everyman Palace Theatre
In what was an awful week weatherwise for the people of Cork, Irene peformed in 'Desolate Heaven' at Corks's Everyman Palace Theatre nightly up until Saturday February 8th. The play is written by Ailís Ní Ríain and was Directed by Tony McCleane-Fay. It also starred Irish actress Aine Ryan and well known Irish actress Mary McEvoy. Irene and Aine play two young girls who runaway together due to being burdened with unnatural responsibility. As well as being a haunting, dark drama 'Desolate Heaven' is also a story of falling in love, of fairytales, of feeling too deeply and having to grow up too soon. The play was awarded the Tom Erdhardt Peggy Ramsay Award in 2012 and was premiered at London’s Theatre 503 in February 2013. The play received its Irish premiere in this co-production between Cork's Granary Theatre and The Everyman as part of the Everyman’s on-going Everyman Touring Initiative whereby new works are premiered at the theatre and then toured throughout the county.

Influenced by the work of Irvine Welsh, Enda Walsh, Beckett and Flann O’Brien, this entertaining play will resonate with audiences long after they have left the theatre. Stephen Cromwell plays 'CHICO' in 'Play Next Door' on RTE 1 tonight
Stephen features in Pat McCabe's play 'IF THOSE LIPS' which will be broadcast on RTE 1 tonight, Thursday January 16th. 'If Those Lips' is the second of three plays that make up the 'PLAY NEXT DOOR' series for RTE. Stephen performs in the role of 'CHICO' alongside actors Ian McEihinney, Olwan Fouere and Nika McGuigan. The play is Dirceted by Charlie McCarthy (RAW, Crisis Eile, Citizen Charlie). December saw Stephen wrap on the Feature Film 'The Legend of Longwood' in which he is cast in the role of 'Norbert Tilly'. The film is Directed by Irish Director Lisa Mulcahy. Stephen will also feature in the role of 'Hugh Kelly' in the Television Drama 'Jack Taylor - Shot Down' which will be the sixth installment to the Jack Taylor Television Series which stars Iain Glen in the title role. Come spring we'll see Stephen on our big screens going toe to toe with Irish Actor Ciaran Hinds in Tonn Films Feature Film ‘The Sea’ which closed last year's Galway Film Festival.


Duncan Lacroix cast in one of the leading roles in Starz Television Series 'OUTLANDER'
Duncan is cast in one of the leading roles in the highly anticpated television drama from Battlestar Galactica's Ron Moore. OUTLANDER is based on a seven-book series by Diana Gabaldon.
Duncan will play Murtagh Fraser Fitzgibbons. OUTLANDER revolves around Jamie Fraser, played by Sam Heughan, who strikes up a passionate affair with Claire Randall, a married combat nurse from 1945 who is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743 and thrown into an unknown world where her life is threatened. When she is forced to marry Jamie Fraser, a chivalrous and romantic young Scottish warrior, a passionate affair is ignited that tears Claire's heart between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives.
Duncan joins a cast that also includes fellow Game of Thrones alum Tobias Menzies, Catriona Balfe (who plays Claire Randall) and Scottish natives Graham McTavish and Gary Lewis. McTavish (The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, 24) will play Dougal MacKenzie, while Lewis (Gangs of New York, Billy Elliot) will portray Colum MacKenzie. Duncan's credits also include Sky Television's Primeval, Tile Films Cromwell in Ireland and The CW's Reign. Before heading over to Scotland back in October, which is where he will be based until late 2015, Duncan wrapped filiming on the second season of 'Vikings' in which we will see him play Saxon noble 'Ealderman Werferth'.
