Stephen Cromwell and Martin Moloney cast in supporting roles in DAMO & IVOR THE MOVIE which will go on cinema release on March 16th...
Damo and Ivor are set to hit cinema screens on March 16th, with a feature-length version of the RTÉ2 comedy currently in production and it sees the unlikely pair search for their long lost brother, John Joe.
After two seasons on television, Damo Whelan and Ivor Itchdaddy are set to make their big screen debut. The unlikely pair shared the news on their official Facebook page, confirming that the movie will be coming to cinemas across Ireland in 2018.
Andy Quirke reprises his roles as both Damo and Ivor while Ronan and Rob Burke, who directed the second series of Damo & Ivor, have directed the film which follows Damo and Ivor as they embark on the mother of all adventures to find the last piece of their family puzzle and track down their long lost brother, John Joe. The adventure will take the brothers across Ireland where they discover that sometimes you can’t judge a book by its cover.
Damo & Ivor debuted on RTÉ2's Republic of Telly in 2011, with a full series of the satirical comedy airing in 2013. A second series followed in 2014.
Speaking about the film release an RTÉ spokesperson said: "RTÉ is a co-funder of the Damo & Ivor movie and is delighted to be supporting it. We will be showing it on RTÉ after its cinema release."
It's not the first RTÉ comedy to be adapted for the big screen with The Hardy Bucks Movie following the lads as they travelled to Poland to support the Irish football team during the Euro 2012 football tournament.
